There is never a shortage of things to do in the Denver Metro Area on Easter.  Some places may already be full but there are so many to choose from that your sure to find something to do to enjoy the day.  Whether you are looking for something to do with the entire family or just a few friends these suggestions won't disappoint.

Easter Sunrise Service at Red Rocks

World’s Largest Easter Egg Hunt

Location: Copper Mountain Resort

When: April 16 starting at 8:00AM

Copper Mountain is the original snow bunny as employees hide 65,000 eggs spread over 2,500 acres on Easter Sunday. There will be different hunts for all ages.  Children ages 3 and under will have special hunts and there will even be an on-mountain hunt for adults.  New this year: Easter breakfast with Character Rainbow Fish.  Enjoy before the hunts in the Conference Center from 8 to 10 a.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $21 for kids ages 4-9.

Elway’s Downtown Easter Brunch 

Location: 1881 Curtis St.

When: April 16 from 11:00AM to 2:00PM

Cost: $84/person; $32/children under 12. Complimentary valet parking.

Gather your family and friends for an Easter brunch buffet at Elway’s where will not be a lack of culinary delights.

Easter Brunch & Photos with the Easter Bunny 

Location: Downtown Aquarium Restaurant, 700 Water St., Denver

When: Sunday, April 16 from 10:00AM to 4:00PM

Cost: $39.99/adults; $34.99/seniors (65+); $19.99/kids ages 3-10; Free/kids 2 and under

Easter Brunch at the Downtown Aquarium is always a hoppy time.  The brunch will feature over 40 entrees, desserts and appetizers to choose from in addition to fabulous cocktails.  After a long night of delivering baskets and hiding eggs, the Easter Bunny will make a stop to see the kiddos and take photos with them.  Not sold yet?  There will also be egg hunts, so make sure to bring your kid’s baskets.  Warning: Spots fill up fast.

Golden Bunny Classic

Location: Winter Park Resort, 85 Parsenn Road, Winter Park

When: April 16 starting at 11:00AM

Winter Park Willie and the Easter Bunny are teaming up for this can’t-miss event.  Kids will love an on-mountain candy hunt in Discovery Park as well as a base area egg hunt for the wee ones under 5.  The Bunny Race has been an Easter tradition for more than 39 years for children ages 10 and under.  At 11:00AM the egg hunt is for younger non-skiing hunters at the Village Gazebo at the base of Winter Park Resort.  At 11:45AM all skiing candy hunters head to Porcupine and Bobcat Trails in Discovery Park to assemble and wait for Winter Park Willie.

Bunny Bolt 5K/10K

When: April 15; race starts at 10:00AM

Location: City Park, 1700 N. York St., Denver

Registration fee: $35/adult 5K run; $40/adult 10K run; $10/kids 1K Rabbit Rush; $30/5K team, minimum of four; $35/10K team, minimum of four (all online registration fees expire April 13, but registration is available on the day of the race for an increased fee)

This race has a little something for everyone. Bring the kids. Bring your bunny ears. Bring your favorite running partners and head out to the Bunny Bolt at City Park. There will be a massive Easter egg hunt, free yoga class, face painting, balloon artists and photo opps with the Easter Bunny himself! And there will even be Denver’s only Golden egg hunt for adults only. Heck yeah!

Bunny Express Train

Location: Colorado Railroad Museum, 17155 W. 44th Ave., Golden

When: April 15, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Cost: $15/adults; $5/children; $10/seniors

All aboard the Bunny Express Train!  The Easter Bunny and Spike the Railyard Hound will be handing out candy during the event, so definitely have the kids bring their baskets to fill.  The whole family will hop on the train featuring the 1880s vintage passenger coach and experience it as if you’re traveling back in time.

Giant Dino-Sized Egg Hunt

Location: Denver Zoo, 2300 Steele St., Denver

When: April 16, 12:00PM to 5:00PM

Children will get to pretend they are paleontologists this Easter at the Denver Zoo. In anticipation of the new traveling exhibit, DINOS! Live at Denver Zoo, kids will get to go hunting for some super-sized eggs around the zoo. This giant egg hunt is suitable for kids of all ages.

Bunny Trail

Location: Children’s Museum Denver, 2121 Children’s Museum Drive, Denver

When: April 15 from 10:00am to 5:00PM

Cost: $15/ages 2-59; $13/ages 1 and 60+

Hop on down to the Children’s Museum! This annual event isn’t just a great way to celebrate Easter, it’s also a favorite among families to welcome in the season with springtime arts projects, face painting, tasty Teaching Kitchen samples, and meet and greets with Truffles the Big Bunny. Kid can also take a ride on the wacky train for $2 or enjoy creepy-crawly critters from the Butterfly Pavilion and the Pony Express Petting Zoo.

The Hippity Hop Easter Trot

Location: Central Park, Stapleton

When: April 15 starting at 8:00AM

Cost: $20/kids fun run with T-shirt; $40/single 5K registration; $140/family team up to 4; $50/half marathon

If you and your family loves going outside and getting exercise, this is a great option before you eat one too many chocolate Easter bunnies. There are adult runs (and even a half marathon) but also a kids’  cottontail fun run and Easter egg and scavenger hunt. There will be food, drinks, games, prizes and loads of activities.

Whoa...that's a lot of Easter fun to be had!  So make your plans now and plan to get the kids dressed in their  ridiculously adorable Easter attire that they absolutely hate.  Make sure to dust off the baskets that were put in the basement’s seasonal bins.
