949 new residents a week.  That has been the average growth of metro Denver (excluding Boulder) from 2010-2016.  310,000 total people overall for a population of roughly 2,853,000.  Only 6 metropolitan areas across the US have experienced greater growth during the same time span: Austin, Houston, San Antonio and Dallas-Fort Worth, TX, Raleigh, NC, and Orlando, FL.

Including Boulder County, the metro area population has now surpassed 3.2 million and it is expected at some point during 2017 that the city of Denver will exceed the 700,000 mark.  State-wide, Colorado's population according to the Census Bureau was at 5.5 million -- up 1.7% from the prior year.  The metro area with the highest rate (not numerical) gain in Colorado -- I'm sure you guessed it -- Greeley.
