Creating Our Positive Story

A Couple weeks ago an article from EXIT Realty's "Focus on Good Health" came out entitled,"We Create Our Stories. I thought it was a wonderful article, and wanted to share some reflection and insight about it.

In our lives we all encounter seemingly hopeless, and difficult situations which can have a huge effect on all aspects of our lives, the way we respond to these situations can either have a positive impact on us or negative. Often the most natural, comfortable and easiest way to respond to difficult situations in our lives is to be negative and upset about it, but the fact is... being negative is just going to make the situation seem even more hopeless. You have the choice to change your situation into a positive one, and it begins with your attitude.

The article states, " If you have a story that equals the impossible , then I suggest you switch it up and make a choice about the kind of story in which you would like to live. To do this you must turn off the idea of what is appearing real to you in the moment - your current situation- and instead focus on what you want your story to be."

No one wants a negative impossible story, so you have the choice AND power to make the best out of your current situation.

Eliminate as many negative thoughts you can. Think of what you want your life to be. Think of the light at the end of the tunnel. Then make the choice to change your response to a positive, and hopeful one. That is how you create your positive story. Your positive story will not alway be easy, but there is always hope in difficult situations, and even the smallest drop of hope can make your life positive!  Your life has a purpose, and it should be filled with hope, love, and joy!
