Explore Colorado plan your summer escape to Park County and its South Park National Heritage Area. Only an hour and a half from the Front Range, but a world apart, you will have a summer to remember in Park County. Some attractions include bike racing in August, llama and burro racing in July, afternoon fishing on gold medal waters, balloon rides, horseback riding, and free music festivals throughout the summer season. You also might like to try daily or weekly hiking on the many trails or floating on a quiet mountain lake. There is also lots of wildlife to spot along the mountain trails near Bailey or pan for gold in Fairplay. Whatever you choose South Park National Heritage Area is sure to please.   Another great Colorado getaway is the beautiful Crested Butte. Water cascades through volcanic rock from an outlet under Greenlake, with a brilliant display of wildflowers, butterflies and picturesque scenery for photographers and painters alike. Crested Butte is well known for its wildflower watching but it also offers many options for summertime fun including mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding.

Also save some time to check out the awesome Loveland Colorado. Loveland offers some of the best events of the summer including the old fashioned corn roast festival August 22nd through 23rd , the thunder in the rockies August 29th through September 1st, Loveland Octoberfest September 20th, sculpture in the park August 9th through the 10th, Loveland  sculpture invitational August 8th through 10th, and the lagoon concert series Thursdays June 26 through July 31st.
