High scores compared to the other 49 states in 8 Factors: cost of living, health care quality, crime, weather, taxes, cultural vitality, senior citizens well-being, and the prevalence of other seniors, have contributed to Colorado's #2 ranking in states to retire.  Only New Hampshire beat out the Centennial state.  Of the 8 categories, Colorado scored the highest in seniors well-being (3rd among states).  The lowest?  45th among states in the prevalence of other seniors (only 4 states have a lower percentage of residents 65 and older).  So, it must be good to be over 65 in Colorado - there just aren't that many of you!

In case you were wondering.  The worst state to retire to according to the Bankrate study?  Alaska.  Colorado ranked 3rd in the annual survey last year and also ranked 5th in a retirement survey earlier this year from Wallethub.
