Colorado...what's not to love?  From our quick access to the Rocky Mountains and foothills, giving into our love of skiing, hiking and wandering beautiful mountain towns to all the hustle and bustle of our growing cities and towns providing us with beautiful lakes and old towns to walk through, with a plethora of restaurants for unique, quick bites and refreshing home grown craft brews, as well as botiques and small shops where we can support our ever growing local businesses.

One of these growing small towns is Arvada, Colorado. With quick access to the I-70 corridor, you have a quick drive to downtown Denver and all it has to offer or head west for some Rocky Mountain adventures; but if you feel like sticking close to home, Arvada offers plenty to keep you entertained. Its bustling Olde Town offers a variety of locally owned shops, coffee shops, restaurants and is home to a booming amount of local breweries. So many breweries, in fact you're just a hop skip and jump from making a day of brewery tours, on your own time...which is what I recently did and if you keep reading below, I'll fill you in on all the details of my local brewery stops.

First on our brewery tour stop is Odyssey Beerwerks Brewery and Tap Room. Located in an industrial area of Arvada, just a little south of Olde Town Arvada its location left me a little puzzled, until I walked through the door and looked around and then it all made sense...their beer is brewed right there on site! The bar has a great industrial feel to it, including a large garage door that opens up connecting their great patio space to the bar area, which is great on sunny days! This spot felt welcoming to familes with kids, as they had a variety of board games to choose from and if even if you don't bring the kids, grab one to play with your friends while you sip on one of their great craft brews! Their food selection is provided by a variety of food trucks (see their food truck calendar, here). While we were there we enjoyed the Palm Tree Caribbean Lager with some delicious grub from Yummy's Brazilian (the taco's were amazing!). One of my favorite things about Odyssey was their large event calendar (which can also be found online, here or follow their Facebookpage to be kept in the loop). From bands to trivia nights and so much more, you'll always find something fun to do at Odyssey Beerwerks! PS: If you're like me and enjoy dessert and beer...they have an awesome night coming up on March 22nd, where you can get some awesome dessert from La Patisserie Francaise, a local Arvada bakery and pair it with some of their fine craft brews!Image title

My second stop was at Grand Lake Brewing Tavern, located right in the heart of Olde Towne Arvada. This brewery has always been one of my favorites, since I first tried it in Grand Lake, Colorado and I was thrilled to hear that they had opened a location right in Olde Town Arvada! The space is large and opening, with a plethora of art from various local artists (that can be purchased)  and there is great bar top seating, with a large big screen TV, perfect for game nights! It is a family friendly atmosphere (Kids eat FREE Mondays and Wednesdays!) with seating enough for families or large groups.  My first beer here was a limited edition chocolate beer. I have always had a love of chocolate and always try chocolate beers and will have to say that their chocolate beer is by far my favorite of all the chocolate beers that I have tried. It's not a really heavy dark beer, like some and the flavor is truly a great blend of chocolate. My second beer here was a Kickinback Peach Wheat. I love peach and will say, it was another great craft brew. Really, you can't go wrong with any of their beer and cider selections! Food...the food is delicious and menu is large enough to find something that everyone loves. The kids as well as us adults loved what they had to offer! Their home made seasoned fries and pizza were a hit!

My last stop was at New Image Brewing.  (Located right next door to Grand Lake Brewing Tavern)- The atmosphere is bright, welcoming and modern- large and open with great windows and the atmosphere and is made even more welcoming because of the phenomenal staff, who greet you when you walk in the door and treat you top notch the entire time you are there. They have a great bar top set up and the rest of the seating is large, community style picnic table seating. They have beautiful artwork on the walls, from local artists, available for purchase. I had the Moped, to start with, which is a great, blood orange flavored light beer, followed by an absolutely delicious Dyad which was an amazing kombucha blend beer with sour and refreshing flavors; by far, some of my favorite beer in Arvada. One of the great things about this bar is that if you have friends that are non-beer lovers, don't fret...they offer an amazing selection of unique, handcrafted cocktails. To top it all off, their menu was absolutely amazing. You won't find the 'traditional' bar food menu here. Their cooks put passion and heart into their cooking and really you can't go wrong with what you order from Buffalo Ravioli to Crispy Brussel Sprouts...everything on the menu is superb! PS: Don't miss out on this fun event!New Image Brewery's One Year Anniversaryis coming up and they have a lot of fun happening March 6th-March 12th from Merch Monday to tapping some great new brews and a patio party (click the link for more info)....don't miss out, this is sure to be a week of FUN!

I had a great time on my little brew tour and definitely didn't stop at all the local breweries, but will keep you posted on my next mini-tour, as there are plenty more local breweries to try! What are some of your favorite local breweries? I know Colorado doesn't have a shortage of these!

If you have any questions about Arvada, I was born and raised here and am a Colorado native and have plenty of information on all the Denver Metro Area. Whether you are buying or selling I have all the tools and experience you need to make sure your buying or selling experience goes smooth, every step of the way!
