Denver's Best Pumpkin Patches

Halloween is less than a month away, and Denver area farms have a cornucopia of pumpkins for you to pick up and carve, decorate or simply stare at. From mazes to autumn foods to hayrides, the offerings at these pumpkin patches will inspire you to go out of your gourd hunting for this year's jack-o'-lantern. Here are some of the best pumpkin patches in the Denver area:

Anderson Farms Fall Festival, Erie

Kids (and the young-at-heart) can explore the humongous 25-acre corn maze, take a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch, play with farm critters, ride the barrel train, soar on jump pads, whoosh down the combine slide, race Barnyard 500 Pedal Karts, climb a tire mountain and more.

Open daily: Check online schedule. Tickets: $19 for Friday to Sunday, $12 Monday to Thursday, FREE/3 and under.

For some scares check out Terror in the Corn, an evening haunted ghost town and hayride. Tickets are $27. Zombie Paintball Hunt is an evening wagon ride equipped with paintball gun for each passenger. Tickets are $27. Terror/Zombie combo: $49.

Cottonwood Farms Pumpkin Patch, Boulder

Family farm located just north of Lafayette, selling pumpkins and fall produce. Play in the four-acre corn or straw bale maze, and see farm animals and tractors. Wagon ride available on Saturdays and Sundays.

Admission is FREE on weekdays, $5 on Saturday & Sunday. Children 5 and under and seniors 65+ are always FREE. Open daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms Corn Maze, Littleton

Seven-acre corn maze. Mini maze for the little ones. View the design from two 15-foot tall illuminated bridges.

Admission also includes unlimited jumping pillow, one hayride and one barrel train ride (for children 12 and younger). Pony rides, hamster balls and food available for additional fee.

Open Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets: $14/adults, $13 seniors, military and students with ID, $12/adult members, $11/children (4-12), $9/child members.

Flat Acres Farm, Parker

Tons of the things to do including corn maze, Kids Hay Bale Maze, duck races, giant Jenga, hay ride, bounce houses, jump pillow, corn hole, corn kernel boxes, swing set, climbing wall, petting zoo and more.

Pick out that perfect pumpkin in the pumpkin patch. fall decorations. Also for sale: corn stalks, straw bales, and gourds. Every visitor receives a free mini-pumpkin or mini-gourd.

Open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets: $14 for ages 3 to 64. Seniors 65+ $5. Military get 20% discount.

Fritzler Farm Park, La Salle

More than 20 attractions including 15-acre corn maze, plus jumping pillow, slide mountain, barrel coaster, Verti-scope, pumpkin patch, corn box, pig races, pedal go-karts, arcade, pumpkin cannon and paintball adventure (additional fee). Family-friendly during the day. Scream Acres for adults only at night. Hours and days vary. Tickets: individual $19.95 or season pass (unlimited admission all season long) $49.95.

Harvest Farm Fall Festival & Corn Maze, Wellington

Ten-acre corn maze, hay bale maze, pig races, petting zoo, goat city, playground, corn cannons, barrel train and more. Harvest Farm also plans special events almost every weekend from goat yoga to Denver Broncos Weekend to Kite Day. Be sure to check their website for a complete schedule. Open Friday & Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. Tickets: $15/adults, $13/kids (4-12) & $10/seniors & military.

Maze in the City, Thornton

20-acre “Crazed Corn” maze, mini maze for young children, pumpkin patch, jumping castle, air slide, kids’ activities and more. While visitors navigate their way through the cornfield, they are invited to engage in a one-of-a-kind smartphone trivia game. Open Thursday to Sunday. Check website for hours and dates.

Tickets for the corn maze: $12/adults, $9 kids (6-12), $8/Seniors 55+ on Thursdays, kids 5 and younger are FREE. Additional charge for some rides & activities, with packages available. Pumpkin field, playground and corn kernel box are FREE.

Mazzotti Farms Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch, Hudson

Scare-free corn maze, petting zoo with farm animals, real working farm and pumpkin patch. Admission includes all activities and one pumpkin.

Open weekends through October from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets: $12 per person (under 2 free). Opens October 5. 24120 Weld County Rd. 8, Hudson. 

Mile High Farms, Bennett

Sadly, due to hail damage, Mile High Farms will be closed this year, but hope to return in 2020. Two corn mazes, a petting zoo, antique tractor hayride, pumpkin patch, barrel cart rides, bounce castles, corn pits, playground, entertainment and concessions. Extra charge for pumpkins, vendor food and face painting.

Miller Farms, Platteville

Corn maze, petting zoo, antique tractors, pedal tractors, a hay pyramid, “Croc-pit” (thousands and thousands of chopped-up Crocs in a giant pile-o-fun), farm animals and more. Take a hayride through 180 acres of fields where you can pick your own vegetables — potatoes, carrots, onions, beets, Indian corn, squash, peppers and pumpkins. Open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Adults (13+) are $22 (or family of 4 for $75). Children (4-12) are $15. Cost of general admission allows each person to pick up to four (4) bags of produce each. If you pick over the 4 bag limit, each additional bag is $10 and if you don’t fill your four bags that is your decision – no refunds will be given.

Munson Farms, Boulder

Wander the huge pumpkin patch for FREE to pick your own, and pay by weight/size. Specializes in 10 varieties of heirloom pumpkins. Open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Nick’s Garden Center, Aurora

Straw maze, family tractor ride through the Tunnel of Terror (not too terrifying, in fact), kiddie train ride, pedal karts, jumping castles (one just for tots 5 and under). Huge pumpkin patch – more than 100 tons in all shapes and sizes.

Open rain or shine Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Straw maze, ring toss game, story time with Professor Pumpkin and kids play area are all FREE. Tokens needed for tractor ride, pedal kart, train & bounce house. Rock Creek Farm, Broomfield

Four corns mazes of varying lengths and complexity, kids play area with hay bale maze and farm animals to view. U-Pick-Em pumpkins and concessions. Admission and parking are FREE. Fee of $7 (age 4-11) and $10 (12 and older) to explore the corn mazes. Extra charge for pumpkins, fall decor or food & drink.

Open daily 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Bee Hugger, Longmont

Known for its U Pick Sunflower Field and pumpkins. The sunflower fields will be a decorated maze, there are old tractors to climb, vintage campers and VW’s to explore and many more sweet surprises. This is a peaceful and magical place to come with your family. Some may be lucky enough to run into the owners and get a free hayride around the sunflower field. Pumpkins available beginning the first week of October.
