Add Green to your homes value

Homeowners and home buyers alike agree – eco-friendly property improvements can not only save you money on heating and energy consumption costs - they can also add to your property's market value.

If you're considering renovations, for your home this year, here are a few ideas on how to add a little "green" to your home:
  • Improve energy efficiency with better windows and insulation. The bulk of a home's energy consumption goes towards heating and cooling. Upgrading your windows, improving your home's insulation, and otherwise eliminating drafts can help ensure that you're using less energy to keep your home at the right temperature.
  • Make updates with recycled materials. If you're considering adding a new deck, remodeling your kitchen, or updating a bathroom, consider using recycled materials that aren't only better for the environment, they can be more durable and customizable than traditional materials.
  • Upgrade to ENERGY STAR rated appliances and lighting solutions. Independently tested and certified, ENERGY STAR appliances are more energy efficient, use less water, and can be more convenient to use.
