Valentine’s Day weekend is little Loveland’s time to shine, and each year its Sweetheart Festival draws thousands to celebrate everything love. And by love, we mean a palace of sweets, live ice sculpting, fire performances, beer hall, food trucks, and Little Miss Valentine and Little Mr. Cupid contests.

The year of the wood dragon is upon us, which means we’re in for a year of innovation and abundance. Celebrate the dragon at the Far East Center’s Lunar New Year celebration, where you’ll find a non-stop party of lion dances, performances, food, and shopping.

Already missing the slew of Christmas pop-up bars? Don’t worry, the Inverness Denver’s Fireside Bar & Grill has another holiday-themed pop-up for you to hit. Bar Cupid is your Valentine’s Day bar HQ, decked out in floor-to-ceiling pink and red and with a menu full of lovey dovey cocktails.

Do you like 18-course dinners of wagyu tartare and lobster tom yum and have money to burn? Then you’ll want to check out Ukiyo, the brand-new omakase restaurant below Bao Brewhouse. Each course is fun and creative—especially the cotton candy bonsai tree growing out of matcha tiramisu for dessert.

Finally! The Star Wars burlesque-comedy show we’ve been waiting for. The Empire Strips Back features g-strings, Chewbacca, pasties, and stormtroopers. Or everything you need for a good time. The show is in town through the end of April.

Galentine’s Day parties

Around town, Price varies
Spill the tea with your best gals at Halcyon hotel’s Galentine’s Tea at Local Jones. Feast on pastries and scones Saturday and Sunday while sipping tea and champagne. Or go a little wilder at Punch Bowl Social’s Galentine’s Day bash Friday night. There will be girl power music on the dance floor and a DIY friendship bracelet bar.

BurnDown, Free
Love the Fat Tuesday energy but wish it wasn’t on a work night? Get in on the Mardi Gras action early at BurnDown’s Saturday night party. They’ll have a special Cajun menu, Hurricanes and Sazeracs galore, masks, beads, and a couple live bands playing into the night.
