Everything Fun to Do in Denver This Weekend

These are all your local must-hit food and music festivals, events, movies, markets, deals, and concerts to help you make the most of your weekend.

Say ‘Happy Birthday, America’ with fireworks, country music, and stanning your favorite sci-fi and comic book movie stars. It’s Fourth of July weekend, and Denver is ready to celebrate with arts festivals, concerts, rodeo events, FanExpo, and, of course, fireworks shows lighting up city skies. Here, what to do and where to go for your holiday weekend.

Friday, 6:10 pm, Saturday, 7:10 pm
Ballpark
There are fireworks shows going off all over the Front Range this weekend, but one of the biggest will light up the sky over Coors Field. The Colorado Rockies host the Arizona Diamondbacks, but the real action starts after the night games, when the fireworks get banging.

Sunday, 5 - 10 pm
Civic Center Park
Join thousands of your fellow Denverites to celebrate Independence Eve at Civic Center Park. Grab dinner from a food truck, listen to the Colorado Symphony perform, and settle in for an amazing fireworks show from the roof of the City and County Building.

Friday - Saturday, 10 am - 8 pm, Sunday, 10 am - 6 pm
Cherry Creek North
One of the largest and most important art festivals of the year, the Cherry Creek Arts Festival hosts 250 national and international artists, showing everything from photography to jewelry to painting to sculpture. Besides the visual art, there will be art to please your other senses too, in the form of concerts and food trucks.

Greeley
It’s worth a trip north this weekend for the Greeley Stampede, a weekend full of rodeo events, concerts, duck racing, a demolition derby, carnival, and one of the biggest Independence Day parades in the nation. Yeehaw.
Cost: $5

Friday - Saturday, 5 - 10 pm, Sunday 5 - 9 pm
Whittier
Another week, another restaurant opening. This week’s is Point Easy, a long-awaited, sustainability focused eatery in the former Whittier Pub space. Live a little and try the “Get Fed” option, a tasting menu created just for you based on your preferences.
Cost: Free entry

Saturday, 1:30 - 4:30 pm
Greenwood Village
Ahead of the KYGO Birthday Bash concert at nearby Fiddler’s Green, Grange Hall will host Ashton Lee Band for a pre-show concert. Heck, you can even park at the food hall, hit one of the satellite bars they’ll have set up, and then walk over to the main show.
Cost: Free entry

Friday, 4 - 9 pm, Saturday, 10 am - 7 pm, Sunday, 10 am - 5 pm
Downtown
Any self-respecting comic book, anime, sci-fi, and gaming fan will be at the Colorado Convention Center this weekend for the FanExpo Denver. Meet Carl Weathers, Elijah Wood, Kevin Smith, and other celebs, all while getting the chance to wear your Aquaman costume in public.
