Financing Myths Busted

If you are considering buying a home, chances are that you have heard that you need a 20% down payment and an awesome credit score. The reality is that those numbers are more flexible than you think. In fact, 80% of first time buyersin February did not have a 20% down payment and 65% percent of them put down less than 6%. The average down payment for all buyers right now is 10%. Also, the average FICO credit scores are lower for 2017 than they have been in years past. With rents on the rise and interest rates low, it is a great time to buy a home. Speak with a Realtor (like me) and a lender to determine your buying power.
