Denvers Union Station Area Will Have A Large New Addition

A 200 million-dollar, 334-unit condo project near Denver Union Station is taking its first steps for a new venture according to East West Partners, the project’s developer.

The project at 1750 Wewatta Street will include an affordable component under the City of Denver inclusionary Housing Ordinance.  33 out of 334 units will have a price range by the city’s affordability requirements.

294 units will have a price range from $200,000 up to $1.3 million. The remaining seven are penthouses on the 19th floor that will have a price range of $1.6 million to $3 million.

The project will also include 19,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and a parking garage which has 447 slots.

"The Coloradan is the final piece of the Union Station puzzle—the last building to go vertical in the area surrounding the train platform and canopy and the only opportunity to own a piece of this newly iconic neighborhood," said Chris Frampton, managing partner of East West Partners.

"At the Coloradan, the city of Denver will really be the primary amenity as residents will literally be in the heart of everything when they step out the front door," he added.

Portland-based firm, GBD Architects headed the project along with GE Johnsons Construction Co., which acted as the project’s general contractor. Slifer, Smith and Frampton will be marketing the condos starting next year.

In November of last year, the Coloradan announced that the project is expected to complete around September 2018.
