Denver Curling Center To Host National Curling Event Starting December 2
Want to see a preview of one of the newest Olympic events debuting at the 2018 Winter Olympics? Stop by the Denver Curling Center starting Wednesday, December 2 through Monday, December 7 to get your curling fix and see some of the best curlers in the country.
On display will be 29 teams competing for the National Mixed Doubles Championship. Unlike traditional curling of 4 person men or women's teams, mixed doubles consists of 2-person teams with one male and one female. The format, relatively new in curling, has already been accepted as a 2018 Olympic event.
Here is the full press release from the United States Curling Association.
The Denver Curling Center is the only dedicated curling facility in the state of Colorado. It opened its doors in October, 2014 and this event is the first national event it has hosted. With over 310 members, curling leagues are available every day of the week. Admission to the National Mixed Doubles event is free with donations encouraged.
