Colorado Ranks 5th For Retirement
According to the Washington DC based financial analyst firm Wallethub, Colorado ranks 5th for retirees. The study, which focused on important criteria for retirees such as affordability, quality of life, and health care, put the Centennial state near the top. While ranking only 27th in affordability, the state's high grades for health care and quality of life dramatically helped its ranking.
From the Wallethub analysis, the top 5 states for retirees are: Florida, Wyoming, South Dakota, South Carolina, and Colorado. On the opposite end, the northeast didn't fare too well. New Jersey, Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island were all in the bottom 5. Hawaii was also near the bottom. Wyoming earned the top spot on affordability, California the #1 ranking for quality of life, and South Dakota as the state with the best health care for retirees.
