Each year the City takes time to observe its employees who have served in all military branches. It is a celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. Members of the community are welcome to join City employees in this moving, outdoor event.

3:00 p.m. - interactive discussion on seasonal topics
3:20 p.m. – walk begins Walk with Arvada native, Dean Bernard, along one of Arvada’s 150 miles of trails. Walks are at a casual pace lasting 1 to 1 1/2 hours.  You may learn about Arvada’s local plants/trees, urban wildlife and local history. Dress for the weather. Class size is limited, register early.  Walk will be canceled if the temperature is below 32 degrees or if storming.

The Taste of Arvada is one of Arvada Residents’ favorite events of the year! Sample foods from some of the finest restaurants in Arvada! The Arvada Chamber of Commerce will be putting on the Taste of Arvada, November 13, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Apex Center. Race course: Van Bibber Creek Trail – Enjoy spending the morning in one of Arvada’s most delightful parks, filled with picturesque views of Jefferson County Open Space and a backdrop of the Rocky Mountains! This event is an awesome opportunity to burn some calories before the big feast, spend some quality time with friends and family and, best of all, support those in need! All proceeds from the Turkey Chase will benefit programs at Denver Rescue Mission. The Mission helps men, women and children in the greater Denver area and northern Colorado get back on their feet, grow spiritually, heal emotionally and become self-sufficient, productive members of our community. Deep Frying This Holiday? Recycle Your Oil!

The City of Arvada will partner with recycOil® for its Holiday recycOil® event again this year. This recycling opportunity helps individuals and families dispose of their waste fryer oil after Thanksgiving, without sending hundreds of gallons of used cooking oil into landfills and municipal sewer systems throughout our region.
