A Colorado County Is Among The 10 Richest In The Nation Heres How All MetroDenver Counties Rank

That's according to a new analysis from Headlight Data, an Austin-based firm. The company looked at U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis numbers for 2015 (the most recent available) for all counties in the U.S.

For the report, Headlight Data analyzed:

  • 2015 median household income.

  • 2010 median household income.

  • 2010-2015 percent growth.

  • 2010-2015 net change in income.

  • National rank on 2010-2015 percentage growth.

Douglas County's income growth was 12.4 percent, placing it 1,480th out of the more than 3,000 counties nationally.

The national median income stands at $55,775.

The top 10 counties with the highest median household income are:

  1. Loudoun County, Virginia.

  2. Falls Church, Virginia.

  3. Fairfax County, Virginia.

  4. Howard County, Maryland.

  5. Douglas County, Colorado.

  6. Los Alamos County, New Mexico.

  7. Williamson County, Tennessee.

  8. Arlington County, Virginia.

  9. Hunterdon County, New Jersey.

  10. Santa Clara County, California.

Buffalo County, South Dakota, has the lowest median household income, at $22,894, followed by Wilcox County, Alabama and Owsley County, Kentucky, respectively.
