Segway Tour

Hop on a sturdy, easy-to-handle Segway to motor around the Garden of the Gods in style, gliding easily down park trails on this modern machine. Follow your guide through rock formations and natural landmarks as you soak in the history and beauty of this National Natural Landmark.

Meet up with your guide at the visitor center, strap on your helmet, and step onto the Segway for 20 minutes or so of training. Get the hang of turning, speeding up, and stopping, and then cruise off behind your guide to loop around the park.

Scope out dramatic natural features like towering red rock pinnacles, perched boulders, and and wind-carved domes. Enjoy unobstructed views from the trail, and listen as your guide shares the history of the park, stopping to point out the nests of eagles and red-tailed hawks along with exotic plants. Hear tales of the Wild West, keep your eyes peeled for bighorn sheep, and soak in the scenery as you glide back toward the visitor center.

Jeep Tour

Snag a seat in a rugged, open-air jeep to scope out the natural landmarks around Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak area. With a local cowboy behind the wheel to entertain you facts and tall tales, you can focus on taking in the scenery at spots like Helent Hunt Falls and the Garden of the Gods.

Meet up with your guide at the tour office and hop into the jeep, a custom-made, open-air vehicle that's perfect for tackling the wild and rocky terrain around Colorado Springs. Set off into the wilderness, traveling through time as your guide rattles off facts about the area's history. Keep your camera at the ready and watch the woods for bighorn sheep, mule deer, and even black bear among the trees.

Ride into North Cheyenne Canyon Park to see the tumbling cascade of Helen Hunt Falls, see the dramatic tracks of the "Short Line" railroad that used to run to Cripple Creek, and imagine what life was like in the Wild West as you cruise past wooden storefronts in the national historic district of Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs. Finally, hop out of the jeep amid the striking red rock formations in the Garden of the Gods to check out the Colorado souvenirs on offer in the visitor center.

Manitou InclineManitou Incline

Hiking

The trail is the remains of a cog railway that went to the top of Manitou Mountain. The trail gains about 2000 feet of elevation in about a mile. Imagine climbing a rough uneven set of stairs that's a mile long. There is a bail out about half way up that will put you on barr trail. Beware of the false summit just past the bail out. Once you're at the top you can hike back down the incline, or turn south and hike or run back down barr trail. The view from the top over Colorado Springs is worth the effort. This is a great trail for training and it is what most people use it for. As of right now it is illegal to hike the incline, it's private property and hiking it is considered trespassing. Of course, this doesn't stop hundreds of people from doing it every week, but hike at your own risk.
