  1. Do you really want to own your own home?

Ask yourself, what it is about owning your home that you find appealing?

Have realistic goals about how much you can afford per month.

Find a Professional Realtor to help guide you through the process.

  1. Obtaining a Mortgage

Start with finding a lender that will explain all of the options available to you.

Know what you qualify for a price point.  If you have to re-build your credit know what the steps are to realize your goal.

  1. Shopping for a Home

Decide where you would like to live, style of home, size, old vs new, single family or condominium.

  1. Closing

Prior to getting the keys to your future home, make sure you are prepared to supply the lender with all the necessary financial information they require. This will speed up the process to get your loan approved. Get a home inspection. Review your settlement statement and final numbers with your lender.

  1. Life as a Home Owner

Once you move into your home, get to know your home. Main water shut off, sprinkler system if home has one, furnace and water heater etc…figure 1% per year of the purchase of the home for annual repairs. $150,000 x .01 = $1,500

Meet your neighbors and get involved with your community.

Enjoy your new home!
