Settled in 1888, Peyton was originally a farming and coal mining community. Today it is a growing community nestled just outside of Colorado Springs. Enjoy open spaces with all the
With the previous state CSAP and TCAP statewide tests for students in K-12 in Colorado, July usually signified the release of student and district results. 2015 is different. With new social studies and science assessments and a number of problems, tracking the data down this year is very difficult. Many people moving to Colorado rely on this data and many people moving within the state do as well as they choose what district or school boundaries for a home. Here is what data has been released so far, what is to come, and the issues surrounding the rest:
Social Studies tests are administered in the 4th and 7th grades.
HIgh school science and social studies results will not be made publicly available because the state board of education did not approve the release of the science scores and agreement couldn't be reached on the cut score designations for the high school social studies test.
The high school social studies test given in 12th grade will be replaced after just 2 years to a test to be given at "some point in high school."
The PARCC results for all elementary, middle school, and high school students for English and math will not be available until the fall. The PARCC test, originally conceived as a test to compare students results across states had 22 states opting-in just two years is now down to 8. The 2016 version of the test will also be shorter after major complaints on the length of the test.
Typically, I refrain from personal comments -- but after 2 hours of research, this is what we get as a general public? Would the average parent even know where to start? Tests taken without scores even released? Results 6 months after the test taken? The public deserves better for the millions being spent and student time on the tests to have a system where scores are difficult to follow and some tests never even released.
